What if a product is defective after purchase?

Defective product warranty at Optim-Elec:

Manufacturer warranty coverage:

  • All products sold by Optim-Elec (Socomec, Finder, Omron, Phoenix Contact, Crouzet, Schneider Electric, Eaton, Telergon, Lettel) include manufacturer's warranty.
  • Standard warranty : 12-24 months from purchase date depending on product category.
  • Industrial equipment (Socomec UPS, switchgear, automation) : 24-36 months typical.
  • Coverage : Defects in material, workmanship, components. Excludes normal wear, damage from misuse, modification, improper installation.

Report defective product:

  • Email [email protected] with subject "Defective product - warranty claim".
  • Include:
    • Order number and purchase date
    • Product brand, model, serial number
    • Description of defect and symptoms (won't power on, intermittent function, physical defect)
    • Photos of product and any error indicators
    • How product was used (operating conditions, environment)

Warranty process:

  • Optim-Elec verifies warranty eligibility (within 12-24 month period, no damage from misuse).
  • Arranges return : Prepaid shipping label provided. You return defective unit to manufacturer or Optim-Elec warehouse.
  • Manufacturer inspection : Manufacturer diagnoses defect (typically 5-10 business days).
  • Resolution : Replacement unit or repair at manufacturer's discretion.
  • Return shipping : Repaired/replacement product shipped back to you at no charge.

Typical warranty timeline : 15-30 business days from submission to receipt of replacement/repaired product.

Out-of-warranty products : Repair available at manufacturer's cost. Estimate provided before repair. Contact Optim-Elec for repair quotation.
