What if my parcel arrives damaged?
Damaged parcel procedure at Optim-Elec:
At time of delivery:
- Visible exterior damage (crushed, torn, wet): REFUSE delivery. Tell driver you refuse damaged package. Driver returns it to sender (Optim-Elec).
- Option to accept and inspect : If you accept, open parcel WITH DRIVER PRESENT and immediately document any damage:
- Note damage on delivery receipt/proof of delivery.
- Take photos of damaged items and packaging with timestamp.
- Get driver's signature confirming damage notation.
- Refuse damaged interior contents : Do not sign delivery receipt. Return parcel to carrier.
After delivery (if damage discovered later):
- Contact Optim-Elec within 3 business days of delivery.
- Photos required : Take clear photos of damage and keep damaged items in original packaging.
- Delay may void damage claims with insurance.
Report to Optim-Elec:
- Email [email protected] with subject "Damaged parcel - claim".
- Include:
- Order number and tracking number
- Photos of damaged packaging and items
- Delivery receipt image (showing damage notation if signed)
- List of damaged products with model/serial numbers
Resolution: Optim-Elec files claim with carrier immediately. If approved, you receive replacement shipment (new products, full insurance coverage) or full refund at your choice. Damaged items may need to be returned. Processing typically 5-10 business days.
For Socomec or high-value industrial equipment, notify us immediately for expedited replacement given criticality of electrical systems.
